Iran Missile Slams Key U.S. Base in Qatar

A ballistic missile launched by Iran has struck the Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest American military installation in the Middle East, Qatari defence authorities confirmed on Tuesday.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Defence disclosed that two ballistic missiles were fired from Iranian territory toward Qatar.

“Air defense systems successfully intercepted one of the missiles, while the second missile struck Al-Udeid Qatari Base without causing any casualties.”

While authorities confirmed the impact, they withheld details regarding the precise location of the strike within the base or the extent of structural damage.

The Al-Udeid facility, situated on the outskirts of Doha, serves not only U.S. forces but also Qatari and British military personnel. The installation is widely regarded as a strategic nerve centre for American military activities across the region.

This is not the first time the base has come under Iranian fire. Tehran previously targeted the installation last year in response to U.S. airstrikes on its nuclear facilities. Iranian military officials also announced fresh assaults on the base, describing them as retaliation for joint U.S.-Israeli operations carried out across Iranian territory over the weekend.

With an estimated 10,000 troops and civilian staff typically deployed at the base, Al-Udeid remains one of Washington’s most critical strongholds in the Middle East. It functions as the forward command hub for regional missions, although the main headquarters of U.S. Central Command is located in Tampa, Florida.
