A governorship aspirant under the platform of Labour Party (LP) in the November 8 2025 gubernatorial election in Anambra State, Mr. John Nwosu, has regretted in a very strong term, the inability of the Chukwuma Soludo-led administration to carry out its basic responsibilities to the people.
Nwosu, who was speaking with Journalists in Onitsha, noted that the administration has failed in the areas of security, electricity, health and commerce, which he said people of the state were known for.
On Sunday, gunmen killed about 11 persons at Oye Nibo in Awka South Local Government Area of the state, in what the Police have called a cult clash.
According to Nwosu, the governor has failed the people in ensuring the protection of their lives and properties.
Nwosu noted that a major reason for the dearth of investments in the state was the growing insecurity in the state and the lack of adequate facilities for industrialization.
He explained that he was in the race for the state helmsman’s job, to begin to turn around things for the better for the people and ensure that the right environment is created for commerce and industry, which the people of the state are known for.
“If the Governor was doing well, I, as an ICT consultant and economist, wouldn’t have any business coming to run for Governorship position in the state. But I think we deserve better in the state governance,” he said.
Nwosu, a native of Odida Nnewi Ichi in Nnewi North Local Government Area, assured the people that he has all it takes to liberate Anambra State from the shackles of under-development if elected.
Also, a former Secretary to the Anambra State Government, Mr Oseloka Henry Obaze, who was the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the 2017 election in Anambra State, said they were glad that INEC announced the time- table for the election early enough to allow all the parties in the state prepare for the election.
According to him, the Labour Party, with its array of aspirants, has all it takes to bring about the desired change in the governance of the state, expressing the confidence that the Anambra people will make a bold statement concerning their future, come November 8, 2025.
