Insecurity: North-East Govs Meets President Buhari, Service Chiefs

Governors of the north-east zone met President Muhammadu Buhari and security chiefs at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday.

The meeting was also attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha.

National Security Adviser Maj-Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd) and the Chief of Staff to the President Prof. Ibrahim Gambari also attended the meeting.

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum led his colleagues – Ahmadu Fintri (Adamawa), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Darius Ishaku (Taraba) and Mai Mala Buni (Yobe) – to the meeting over insecurity in the region.

Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Gabriel Olonisakin, Chief of Army Staff Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas were equally at the meeting.

Also present were the Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu, and the Director-General, Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi.

Director-General, National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Ahmed Rufa’i, Minister of Defence Bashir Magashi, and the Minister of Police Affairs Mohammad Dingyadi also attended the meeting.
