If you see a man you like, toast him – Omokri urges ladies

—

In a thought-provoking statement, renowned author and social commentator Reno Omokri has challenged traditional gender norms surrounding the initiation of romantic relationships. Omokri asserted that neither Scripture nor the Al-Quran dictates that men must be the sole initiators of romantic pursuits.

Encouraging a proactive approach to love, Omokri advised both men and women to seize opportunities for connection when they arise. Emphasizing the importance of authenticity and genuine connection, he urged individuals not to engage in mind games or succumb to societal pressures to play hard to get.

Citing the wisdom of Nigerian music legend Fela Kuti, Omokri warned against adopting an attitude of ‘Shakara Oloje,’ or false pride, which he argued hinders meaningful connections.

He contended that taking the initiative in forming relationships does not diminish one’s worth, but rather enhances the likelihood of finding a compatible partner.

Moreover, Omokri highlighted the rarity of finding a soulmate who shares the same wavelength, emphasizing the value of seizing the opportunity for a genuine connection when it presents itself.

He suggested that finding a soulmate is a priceless gift within a relationship.

Omokri’s bold stance challenges societal norms and encourages individuals to embrace equality and authenticity in their pursuit of love and companionship.
