If Jonathan Could Be Removed Over Insecurity, APC Should Brace Up— Galadima Warns Tinubu Ahead of 2027

A senior figure in the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Buba Galadima, has warned that Nigerians may turn against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections if economic hardship and insecurity persist.

Speaking in an interview on Channels Television on Thursday, monitored by The News Chronicle, Galadima dismissed claims that living standards have improved under the APC, saying public frustration is being dangerously underestimated.

“Things start small,” he cautioned. “You don’t know how they can blossom and become something else. They shouldn’t presume that Nigerians are gullible and cannot react.

Galadima also warned that arrests of citizens for public commentary risk stoking further resentment rather than calming tensions.

Drawing parallels to the 2015 elections, he recalled how Nigerians ousted former President Goodluck Jonathan amid rising insecurity in the North-East.

“If Nigerians could remove Jonathan’s government over insecurity, what would happen now?” he asked, implying that the APC could face a similar fate if current challenges remain unaddressed.

On the economy, Galadima criticised the Federal Government’s agricultural policies, accusing them of crippling local farmers.

He highlighted fertiliser prices reportedly ranging from ₦60,000 to ₦70,000 per bag and warned that policies favouring grain importation are undermining domestic production and threatening rice mill investments.

“How can you disenfranchise 75 per cent of your population for the interest of a few?” he asked, calling for an urgent review of agricultural and economic strategies to avoid further unrest.
