Popular Nigerian Afro beat hit maker, Divine Ikubor simply known as, Rema, says making music is a calling for him.

The music star maintained that he draws inspiration for his art from within considering that he sees himself as a tool meant to change the world for the better.

The Calm Down croner said that it was impossible to make a gift appear reasonable when one is endowed with it.

Speaking in an interview with journalists, the talented singer said that music was more of a spirit-related issue rather than a brain-related one.

He said he needed not to study anything in order to connect with others.

“I feel like a vessel, to leave a mark in the world. It’s like I’m chosen for it so whether or not I try to run away from it, it’s just what it is.” He added.

The musician’s impressive artistic choices live through to his visual language and sense of style which have earned him a notable recognition in the world stage.

Rema added that he likes to collaborate with other artists to make wild ideas come to life.

I encourage those who are innovative. You’re seeing all these amazing things related to my narrative, my travels, my branding, my images, and my pictures. These are just young people looking for someone to invest in them and help them bring their wild ideas to life; I’m not the one taking the pictures, I’m not the one filming the movies, I’m not the one doing any of that. I live like that, investing in the youth.”

After the success of his smash hit song “Calm Down” with Selena Gomez, Rema has continued to make his imprint in the worldwide music industry.
