Human Rights Lawyer Dele Farotimi Released After Weeks in Custody

Dele Farotimi, a human rights lawyer, has been released from Ado-Ekiti custodial centre after weeks of detention over alleged defamation against Chief Afe Babalola (SAN).
Despite being granted bail on cybercrime charges by the Federal High Court on December 9, 2024, and later by the Ekiti Magistrate Court on December 20, a delay in verifying surety documents and completing formalities stalled his release.
Farotimi fulfilled all bail conditions and is now set to face further proceedings in January 2025.
