How Many Degrees Does DJ Cuppy Have?

Nigerian DJ and music producer Florence Otedola, known professionally as DJ Cuppy, is widely recognized for her music; however, she currently holds four degrees.

The 33-year-old daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola has built her academic record over more than a decade while pursuing her music career.

Cuppy earned her first degree, a bachelor’s in business and economics, from King’s College London in July 2014.

In 2015, she completed a master’s degree in music business at New York University in the United States.

She added a third degree in 2022, a master’s in African studies from the University of Oxford. Her father, Femi Otedola, celebrated the achievement on Instagram and promised to fund a future PhD, writing, “I’ll start saving for your PhD school fees; no knowledge is wasted.”

Her fourth degree came from the London School of Economics, which she announced on Instagram in September 2024.

Cuppy has said a doctorate is still on her mind. In an interview with King’s College London’s alumni magazine, she said, “I do see a PhD in my future.”

On Monday, 13th July 2026, Cuppy posted a TikTok video that brought fresh attention to her academic history. The video showed her walking with her dog, with an on-screen text addressed to people who comment on her relationship status. The text read, “to those worried about my marital status, I’m on my way to get another degree.”

Recently, her younger sister, Temi Ajibade, announced her first pregnancy with musician Mr Eazi. Temi and Mr Eazi married in the summer of 2025. However, their pregnancy news drew public attention back to Cuppy and her own relationship status.

The video, which has gained over 400,000 views, drew thousands of comments on TikTok. Many fans backed Cuppy’s decision to focus on education rather than respond to questions about marriage.

One user, Monic B, joked about the dog in the video, asking, “Please, is the dog also getting a degree?”

Another user, Precious Peters, pushed back on the idea that marriage should be the priority, telling Cuppy to “do whatever brings you satisfaction.”

Not every comment supported her stance. Some users argued that family matters more than academic achievement, while others speculated that she could already be married in private.

Cuppy’s relationship status has been a recurring topic in Nigerian entertainment media for several years. She was previously engaged to Ryan Taylor, who attended her Oxford graduation ceremony in 2022, though the engagement did not lead to marriage.
