Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has publicly apologized to Apostle Johnson Suleman, acknowledging the damage caused by the false accusations she made against him.
This apology comes six months after a Federal Capital Territory High Court ordered her to pay N10 million in damages for defamatory statements she posted about the cleric.
Abubakar’s accusations, made on social media, claimed that Apostle Suleman was a womanizer and involved in diabolical practices.
These claims stirred controversy and led to a legal battle, during which the cleric sought justice, citing the severe impact of her allegations on his reputation.
In a heartfelt apology, Abubakar expressed regret for her actions, acknowledging the pain she caused not only to Suleman but also to his wife, Dr. Lizzy Suleman, his family, and members of the Omega Fire Ministry.

Here is her full apology:
“I am writing to you today to acknowledge the falsehoods I made against you on social media and to offer my sincerest apologies. After deep reflections, and for my conscience to be in accord with God, I have realized the depth of the harm, pain, and distress caused by my lies.
I admit that I made false allegations against you and regret my actions and the damage I caused to you, your wife, Dr. Mrs. Lizzy Suleman, your family, and the leaders of Omega Fire Ministry.”
“With this letter, I humbly ask for your forgiveness, recognizing that my apology cannot undo the harm and distress I caused. I ask that you find a place in your heart to forgive me, as I was not thinking clearly at the time. Sir, you have done a lot for humanity; please extend your hand of forgiveness toward me.”
“Once again, I am truly sorry for all the hurt and distress I caused you, your family, and your ministry. Thank you very much, and may the heavens calm your heart. God bless you, Sir.”
This public apology marks a significant turn in the saga, reflecting Abubakar’s remorse and desire for reconciliation.
The actress has faced widespread criticism since making the false claims, and her recent admission could be seen as a step toward healing and restoring the damage caused.
