Gunmen raid Katsina mosque, kill worshippers, and abduct villagers

In Katsina State, bad people caused a lot of fear and sadness on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

They attacked a mosque and homes, hurting and taking people away. The worst thing happened during prayers in Yargoje village, Kankara area.

The bad people came into the mosque and started shooting at people who were praying. It was very scary.

Three people died, and four others got hurt. The hurt people are now getting help at a hospital in Kankara.

The bad people also took one man and two women from the village. One man tried to fight them, but they were too strong and killed him. They took the two women with them, and nobody knows where they are now.

Around 2:30 am on Thursday, the bad people went to the house of Sani Maikifi in Ungwar Tudun Boka, Kankara.

Sani is a member of a group that helps keep the community safe. Luckily, Sani managed to run away, but his family wasn’t so lucky. The Bandits took his wife and son instead.

Someone who knows about what happened said the Bandits had been watching Sani for some time. They really wanted to find him, but he got away. So, they took his family instead.

In another village called Dangani in Musawa area, Bandits came around 11:30 pm on Wednesday.

They shot guns, which made everyone scared and confused. Then, they took some people away with them.

Someone who saw it happen said they were looking for a rich person from the south who was visiting someone who had lost a family member. The bad people took many people with them.

 

The police haven’t said anything about these attacks yet. It’s a very sad and scary situation for the people in these areas.
