Suspected armed bandits have killed a member of a local vigilante leaving three other persons injured on Saturday 9th December 2023 in Bakutumbe village, Ningi LGA, Bauchi State.
It was gathered that the bandits also kidnapped four other residents of the area in the attack.
A source who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that the bandits began shooting sporadically to scare residents away upon invading the village
According to the source; “The gunmen killed a member of the local vigilante, Malam Dan Ladiyo, and shot and wounded three other people”.
While revealing names of those injured in the attack to include, Habila Garba, Nura Yakubu, and Sam’ana, who are currently been attended to at a medical facility in Ningi LGA, the source stated that those abducted and held by the captives are Abdullahi Manje, Abdulkarim Na Malam, Hassan See, and Yusuf S. Pawa,”.
He stated that residents who took refuge away from their homes emerged from hiding when they noticed that the bandits had taken away seven villagers but later released three and held the other four hostage.
He also disclosed that the suspected bandits headed towards Lukutu Forest in the area after unleashing the attack.
