Groups denounce Boko Haram assaults on Borno power facilities, call for solidarity in the North-east

The Building Resilience Against Violent Extremism, Insurgency, and Terrorism (BRAVE-IT) and Concerned Citizens of the North-east (CCN) have strongly condemned the recent vandalization of electrical installations along the Maiduguri – Damaturu road.

In a joint press statement released by BRANVE-IT and CCN, signed by their directors of media, Auwal Ahmad Umar and Lawrence Audu, the groups expressed their concern about the audacious attacks that have left the region in darkness.

These deliberate acts are seen as an obvious attempt to impede development and support the activities of insurgents.

BRAVE-IT and CCN firmly denounce the targeting of vital infrastructure, recognizing its disruptive impact on innocent civilians and the threat it poses to regional stability.

The groups are urging the North-east region to actively support the military and other security agencies in their efforts to counter terrorists and safeguard the region.

They emphasized the importance of providing crucial information and showing solidarity, believing that these actions can significantly aid security forces in overcoming the menace.

Commending the leadership of General CG Musa, the service chiefs, and the Borno state government for their unwavering commitment to addressing security challenges, BRAVE-IT and CCN pledge continued support for their endeavors, expressing confidence in their capabilities.

As stakeholders in the Northeast’s and Nigeria’s peace and stability, BRAVE-IT and CCN remain steadfast in their fight against violent extremism.

They are calling upon all citizens, organizations, and authorities to collaborate and confront the threats posed by Boko Haram and other extremist groups.

Through vigilance and unity, the groups believe that a secure and prosperous future for the North-east can be achieved.

“Through vigilance and unity, we can achieve a secure and prosperous future for the North-east,” the groups said.

They emphasize the need for collective efforts to ensure lasting peace in the region.
