Group urges anti-Ganduje protesters to return N250m bribe to Kano Gov’t

A faction known as the Concerned North-Central APC Stakeholders has come forward to distance itself from a protest calling for the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as the party’s national chairman.
In a detailed statement jointly issued by the group’s Secretary General, Malam Shehu Ibrahim, and President, Comrade Aodona Patrick, they vehemently disavowed any association with the protest.
They went on to accuse certain expelled members, whom they labeled as “impostors,” of orchestrating the protest as a means of financial gain.
According to the stakeholders, these expelled members have resorted to blackmail and extortion as their new enterprise, targeting reputable figures within Nigerian politics.
They alleged that the impostors were recently contracted by the Kano State government to stage the protest against Ganduje, with the purported aim of tarnishing his reputation and securing his removal from office, allegedly at the behest of President Bola Tinubu.
“We wish to categorically make it clear that those protesters calling for the resignation of Alhaji Ganduje as APC chairman are not our members.”
“They are disgraced members who were expelled over criminal activities. We are not surprised that they have taken this satanic craft to the next level.”
The group further claimed that the impostors were promised a significant sum of money, purportedly amounting to N250 million, to carry out their agenda.
However, they asserted that the mission failed even before it began, indicating that the sponsors of the protest were well-known to the public.
In a twist of events, the stakeholders alleged that the impostors were short-changed by certain individuals within the Kano Government House, who exploited their vulnerability for personal gain. Upon learning of this, the Concerned North-Central APC Stakeholders demanded that the funds be returned to the state government.
“Our findings reveal that these persons were short-changed by desperate forces in Kano Government House who took advantage of their vulnerability. When this was brought to our attention, we asked them to return the funds. Unfortunately, out of greed they have used part of it.”
However, they claimed that the impostors, driven by greed, had already utilized a portion of the money.
Expressing their discontent, the group issued a stern warning to the impostors, urging them to cease their impersonation and fraudulent activities. They stated that an official criminal complaint had been lodged against them.
Despite the allegations and controversy surrounding the protest, the stakeholders expressed gratitude towards President Tinubu for his support of Ganduje and for not succumbing to the purported machinations of the Kano State government.
The group expressed confidence that truth would ultimately prevail over falsehood, and the true motives behind the protest would be exposed.
They emphasized their commitment to upholding the integrity of the APC and ensuring justice prevails in the face of deceit and manipulation.
