Customs and NAFDAC seize prohibited substance at Kano Airport

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), operating in collaboration with various security agencies, has reported a significant seizure at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.
The interception occurred during a joint security check on a passenger arriving from Cairo via Ethiopian Airlines flight ET941.
Upon examination of the passenger’s luggage, authorities discovered 241 empty packages of OTRIVIN and 80 pieces of OTRIVIN nasal drops.
NAFDAC, a crucial partner in this joint security operation, showed interest in the seized items, particularly the nasal drops.
To adhere to due process, the items were detained, and arrangements are underway for smooth transfer to NAFDAC custody.
Following the operation, Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Dauda Ibrahim Chana, extended commendations to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and his management team for their unwavering leadership and support.
He expressed gratitude towards the personnel of the service and collaborating agencies including NDLEA, NAFDAC, and NQS for their dedication and professionalism in achieving this significant outcome.
According to Chana, the Kano/Jigawa Area Command will show continued commitment in safeguarding the nation’s borders and ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens.
