Govt Alone Can’t Fund Digital Economy -NSITDEA DG Calls for Strategic Partnerships

The Director-General of the Niger State Information Technology and Digital Economy Agency (NSITDEA), Mr Suleiman Isah, says the agency will continue to deepen strategic partnerships aimed at strengthening the state’s digital economy.

Isah stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Minna.

He said building a robust digital economy requires substantial investment, stressing that government alone cannot provide the resources needed to achieve full digital transformation.

According to him, sustained collaboration with key stakeholders remains critical to delivering on the agency’s mandate and accelerating digital development in the state.

He identified eight key partnership areas as infrastructure development, digital skills and talent building, innovation and startup ecosystem support, and collaboration with federal agencies.

Others include research and emerging technologies, cybersecurity and data protection, development partners and donors, as well as private capital partnerships.

Isah said these partnerships would drive broadband expansion, cloud infrastructure deployment, digital identity systems, cybersecurity strengthening, digital skills development, innovation growth, and public sector automation.

He commended Governor Umaru Bago for establishing NSITDEA, noting that its functions were previously handled by a ministry.

According to him, the agency now provides a legal and institutional framework that enhances stability, improves service delivery, strengthens accountability, and allows greater operational flexibility.

Isah expressed confidence that under his leadership, NSITDEA would emerge as a model for sub-national digital transformation in Nigeria.
