Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has pledged to complete all ongoing projects across the state before the end of his tenure, describing the commitment as a primary objective of his administration.
The governor made this known on Wednesday during the 2026 Executive Council meeting, where he welcomed members and expressed optimism for a productive year ahead.
Zulum stated that the central agenda of the meeting was to ensure the timely completion of all projects in line with the provisions of the 2026 budget address. He emphasized that his administration remains determined to deliver on its promises to the people of Borno State.
Security, he noted, remained a key focus of deliberations. The governor assured residents that his government would continue to do everything possible to protect lives and property across the state. He also urged council members to approve necessary security-related expenditures to sustain stability.
On resettlement efforts, Zulum said the government would intensify investment in medium- and long-term solutions aimed at supporting remaining displaced persons across local government areas. He stressed the importance of strengthening social protection initiatives through the provision of basic services and citizen support programmes.
The governor expressed appreciation to members of the Executive Council for their dedication since the beginning of the administration, voicing confidence in a strong and successful conclusion of his tenure.
He also commended media organisations for their consistent support in promoting the state’s development objectives. According to him, beyond their civic responsibilities, many media professionals have actively participated in humanitarian distribution exercises across the state’s 27 local government areas.
Zulum assured that the welfare of media practitioners would be given due attention in recognition of their contributions.
