The All Progressives Congress (APC) Galadima Ward in Gusau Local Government area of Zamfara state has announced the suspension of the state party Chairman, Tukur Danfulani.

The ward’s executive officers made this announcement at a press conference in Gusau, the capital city of Zamfara state, on Saturday.

Sixteen out of the twenty-seven Ward officials who signed for the suspension cited poor leadership quality and other misconduct as reasons for the suspension.

They accused Danfulani of causing disunity within the party, leading to the emergence of two factions in the state, which they fear could harm the party’s prospects.

“We, the authentic executives of Galadima ward, have passed a vote of no confidence and imposed a suspension on Tukur Danfulani Mai Katako for various reasons. Sixteen of us have signed the suspension notice, and we will forward it to all relevant authorities,” said the ward executives.

They highlighted Danfulani’s disregard for the welfare of party members and supporters, noting his failure to respond to calls from party officials and supporters.

“Allowing him to continue with the, leadership of the party will not help the party especially in the coming elections because Danfulani doesn’t care about the welfare of members and supporters of the party and does not even respond to phone calls from party officials nor supporters”

Consequently, they are urging the National Headquarters of the party to appoint a caretaker chairman for the party in Zamfara who can lead responsibly and steer the party forward.

The suspension of Tukur Danfulani comes amid rumors of the emergence of two factional leaderships within the party in the state.

The APC, being an opposition party in Zamfara after losing the Governorship seat and majority of the Members of the state House of Assembly in the 2023 General election, faces challenges that require unity and effective leadership to overcome.
