The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Gombe State Command, has successfully contained a fire incident involving a fuel tanker at Rain Oil Filling Station in Tumfure, Gombe State.
The incident occurred while the tanker was off-loading diesel at the filling station. Upon receiving a distress call, firefighters were immediately deployed to the scene and swiftly brought the fire under control through prompt and professional intervention.
The affected area is a highly sensitive commercial zone, located close to several filling stations, business centres and the NNPC Depot.
The rapid response of the Federal Fire Service prevented the tanker from being completely engulfed and averted what could have escalated into a major disaster.
According to the Service, properties valued at over N500 million were saved, and no loss of life was recorded.

The Federal Fire Service reaffirmed its commitment to the protection of lives and property, while urging operators of petroleum facilities to strictly adhere to safety regulations, especially during product discharge operations.
The Service also commended officers of the Nigeria Police Force, Tumfure Division, and the Department of State Services (DSS) for providing security support that enabled firefighters to effectively carry out their duties.
