FCMB Capital Markets bags most listed debt issuance award

—

The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) has recognised FCMB Capital Markets Limited, a division of FCMB Group Plc’s investment banking division, the “Issuing House with the Highest Number of Listed Debt Issuances (Corporate Bonds)”.

According to a corporate release, the company received the top honour at the NGX Made of Africa (MOA) Awards, which were hosted in Lagos.

The NGX MOA encourages more listings, transactions, compliance, and innovation while honouring outstanding achievements to the Nigerian capital markets ecosystem.

Femi Badeji, Executive Director, FCMB Group, Coverage and Investment Banking, made the following statement in response: “This acknowledgement demonstrates the high level of confidence that Nigeria’s top businesses and government agencies have in FCMB Capital Markets and its talents. Being a leading investment banking company has been made possible by our unrelenting dedication to quality and the development of long-term partnerships that are customised to meet the needs of each client. We pledge to maintain our esteemed clientele at the centre of everything we do, and we dedicate this prize to them.”

Ikechukwu Omeruah, Managing Director of FCMB Capital Markets, accepted the prize and stated:” This is important for Nigeria’s future as well as our market, not just for FCMB Capital Markets and the FCMB Group. Every bond we help create is more than just a financial tool; it expands our market, spurs economic expansion, creates jobs, and advances our country. Our success is determined by the real difference we make for our clients and the country, not by figures.”

FCMB Capital Markets has successfully raised about N3 trillion in debt and equity capital for top corporate organisations in a variety of Nigerian economic sectors over the previous five years. The company had remarkable results in 2023, helping to arrange six of the nine publicly listed corporate bonds, contributing to the raising of more than 75% of the capital obtained through the corporate bond market, and gaining a comparable market share.
