Ex Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey Leaves Bluesky Board

Twitter
Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter and a leading advocate for decentralization, has officially departed the board of Bluesky, the open-source social network initiative he spearheaded.
His departure has raised questions about the project’s future direction.
Dorsey’s announcement of grants for open protocols through his Start Small initiative sparked speculation about his ongoing involvement with Bluesky.
However, the company later confirmed his exit, expressing gratitude for his initial support.
Bluesky, unveiled by Dorsey in 2019 during his tenure as Twitter CEO, aimed to pioneer a decentralized standard for social media.
Despite his departure from the board, Dorsey remains closely associated with the project.
The initiative has since transitioned into an independent public benefit corporation, securing venture capital support and appointing Jay Graber as CEO.
Dorsey’s departure came to light after he deleted his Bluesky account, prompting official acknowledgment from the company.
With the search for a new board member underway, Bluesky emphasized its commitment to fostering user-controlled social networking, seeking a candidate who shares its vision for a more decentralized digital landscape.
