The Nasarawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has elected a new state executive committee, with former Deputy Governor, Chief John Michael Abdul, emerging as State Chairman at the party’s congress held on Saturday.
Isah Adamu Nadare was elected State Secretary, while other key officers include Prince Mohammed Yamusa Chindo as Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Nagogo as Treasurer, and Elmahmud Hussaini Sani as Financial Secretary.
Hajiya Hafsat Ibrahim Tiyel emerged Women Leader, Prince Shekwoaga Musa Maikasuwa Youth Leader, Barrister Paul Magaji Ajeh Legal Adviser, Dr. Taimako Sunday Anyuabaga Publicity Secretary, and Hajiya Hassana Musa Maidoki Auditor.
At the zonal level, Comrade Idris Ojoko emerged Vice Chairman (Nasarawa West), Alhaji Yahaya Onyapa Vice Chairman (Nasarawa South), and Mr. Joseph Masin Vice Chairman (Nasarawa North).
In his acceptance speech, Chief Abdul thanked party members for the confidence reposed in the new leadership, pledging to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and reposition the ADC for victory in the 2027 general elections.
He assured aspirants of a transparent, inclusive and fair primary process.
Goodwill messages were delivered by top party figures including Deputy National Chairman, Senator (Mrs.) Patricia Akwashiki; National Vice Chairman (Diaspora), Barrister Musa Elayo; Chief of Staff to the National Chairman, Senator Suleiman Asonya Adokwe; and State Chief Whip, Mr. Julius Miyanki Ogah, who urged the new executives to intensify mobilisation ahead of upcoming elections.
The congress also drew prominent stakeholders and governorship aspirants, including Hon. Barrister Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi, Major General Nuhu Angbazo, Alhaji Jibril Sabo Keana (JSK), Hon. Ayuba Umar, Alhaji Nasiru Soja Abdullahi, and Hon. Umar Shuaibu Kubi, among others.
