The Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Musa Adamu Aliyu, has issued a stern charge to five newly promoted police officers serving at the Commission, urging them to uphold integrity and avoid bringing dishonour to their uniforms.
The officers; Amazama Dennis, Andrew Aliyu Maro, Danladi Embaga, Caleb Gabnok, and Elizebeth Akor were decorated with their new ranks of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) after rising from Inspector.
The decoration ceremony, conducted in line with longstanding Nigeria Police Force tradition that allows host agencies to officiate promotions of seconded officers, was presided over by the ICPC leadership and conveyed through the Secretary to the Commission, Clifford Okwudili Oparaodu.
Describing the promotion as both an honour and a test of character, Aliyu said the elevation must translate into renewed discipline and dedication to duty.
“Your promotion is a testament to your hard work and commitment to service. Do not disgrace the badge which has been pinned on you today,” he warned.
He stressed that integrity remains the Commission’s core value, noting that recognition and career advancement naturally follow officers who remain steadfast, honest, and professional.
Reinforcing the message, the ICPC Secretary cautioned the officers against misconduct or complacency, declaring that the Commission would not tolerate indolence or any act capable of tarnishing its reputation.
“What is paramount to us at the ICPC is integrity. You must respect constituted authority and carry out only lawful duties,” Oparaodu stated.
The promotions are part of a nationwide exercise approved by the Police Service Commission, which on January 29, 2026, announced the elevation of 26,119 Inspectors to the rank of ASP following rigorous written examinations and oral interviews.
Police authorities say the large-scale advancement forms part of an ongoing manpower development strategy designed to reward merit, qualifications, and years of service while strengthening professionalism across the Force.
