Director urges corps members to serve diligently

—

The Director of Corps Mobilisation at the NYSC Headquarters in Abuja, Hajia Walida Isah Siddique, spoke to the 2024 Batch “A” Stream I Corps Members during their Orientation course at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp in Gombe State.

She encouraged them to embrace their assigned states and Places of Primary Assignment (PPA) positively and serve with dedication to contribute to national unity and development.

Hajia Siddique emphasized that the Orientation course aims to change negative attitudes and groom capable youth to help the nation.

She urged them to actively engage in all camp activities and understand the objectives of the NYSC Scheme and its four main programs.

She cautioned against negative behaviors like unauthorized night travels and advised adherence to due process, security awareness, and respect for host communities’ traditions.

She also encouraged participation in the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Programme for self-reliance.

The State Coordinator of NYSC in Gombe, Mr. Dawut Jidda, highlighted challenges at the temporary camp, including inadequate mattresses, water scarcity, and insufficient facilities, along with the high cost of living.

During her visit, the Director inspected camp facilities such as the clinic and kitchen, and presented gifts to various camp units.

Corps Camp Director, Illah Lot Ajeh, expressed gratitude, while Parade Commander, Francis Wilson, shared memorable moments.
