Davido to Headline FIFA World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert in Los Angeles

Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has been announced as one of the headline performers for FIFA’s official countdown concert ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

FIFA confirmed the announcement on Wednesday, June 3, revealing that Davido will perform at the FIFA Countdown Concert on June 10 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, one day before the tournament begins.

The singer will share the stage with Major Lazer, the electronic music project led by American DJ and producer Diplo, with additional performers expected to be announced.

In a statement, FIFA said:

“Los Angeles will play host to a high-energy celebration, featuring Diplo’s Major Lazer and Davido, the first artists announced for what promises to be an unforgettable night of music, football and culture.”

According to FIFA, doors for the event will open at 5:00 p.m. local time, while the live broadcast is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.

The concert is part of a series of events planned across the World Cup’s three host nations: the United States, Canada, and Mexico, ahead of what FIFA has described as the largest tournament in the competition’s history.

This will be another FIFA-related appearance for Davido. In 2022, the Grammy-nominated artist featured on “Hayya Hayya (Better Together),” one of the official songs of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, before performing during the tournament’s closing celebrations.

Davido is not the only Nigerian artist involved in FIFA’s entertainment plans for 2026.

FIFA has also named Rema among the performers scheduled for the tournament’s opening celebrations. The lineup includes international stars Katy Perry, Future, Lisa, Anitta, BTS, and Tyla.

Meanwhile, fellow Nigerian artist Burna Boy is featured on “Dai Dai,” FIFA’s official 2026 World Cup anthem, alongside Colombian singer Shakira.

The World Cup will kick off on June 11, 2026, across venues in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
