Popular Afrobeats singer Burna Boy took delivery of a custom Bugatti Chiron VXX in Lagos, which drew the attention of Davido. The car is reportedly worth ₦9 billion, making it the most expensive car in Africa.
Venuum, a car customization company based in Dubai, built the car and showed it at a ceremony in Lagos. It has a French Racing Blue front, a yellow number 7, and a racing stripe in the French tricolor. The company wrote: “From Dubai to Lagos. A unique creation for a unique artist.” Sadiq Aminu Gaidam, chief executive of the dealership Abuja Car, reportedly arranged the purchase.
An Instagram page, @theboyfromojo, posted footage of the delivery, which Davido liked. He made no comment, but fans noticed anyway.
On Monday morning, a video showed Burna Boy driving the car at 6:30 a.m. Crowds ran after it, and a police vehicle with flashing lights was seen in the frame. Many viewers criticized the singer, with one fan stating Burna Boy should “build industries and factories [and] create job opportunities” instead of making such expensive purchases.
Meanwhile, on Sunday night, during a Twitch livestream with streamer Enzo, Davido said his biggest single purchase cost $11 million. However, he did not say what he bought.
Davido has said he owns eight luxury cars: three Rolls-Royces, two Lamborghinis and three Mercedes-Maybachs. He has stopped buying cars for 2026 and now focuses on his $70 million house in Eko Atlantic.

His family also had a busy day. His elder brother, Adewale Adeleke, showed the new Pacific Holdings headquarters in Lekki. Their father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, founded the company in 1983. It works in energy, real estate, education, and logistics, and both brothers sit on its board.
