Nigerian musician David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, marked his 33rd birthday in Atlanta with a small gathering attended by family members and close associates.
Those present included his father Adedeji Adeleke, Osun State governor Ademola Adeleke, his wife Chioma Rowland Adeleke, his sister Sharon Adeleke, and members of his 30BG team such as Asa and DJ ECool.
The event was held ahead of his sold-out concert at the 21,000-seat State Farm Arena as part of his 5ive Alive tour.
During the celebration, Davido reflected on his early start in music, noting that he released his first single at age 17. He described the past year as important to him, pointing to his marriage and the birth of his twins. He also confirmed that he is working on his sixth studio album, coming months after the release of 5ive on 18 April 2025.
In a separate development, Lagos-based singer Slimcase commented on Wizkid, describing him as an artist who maintains a high-end lifestyle while keeping much of it out of public view. Slimcase said he admires Wizkid’s ability to enjoy comfort without displaying it online. He also acknowledged Don Jazzy as an influence on his work outside music.
Wizkid remains active in global and local conversations following 2026 Grammy nominations and recent remarks by artist Olamide, who referred to him as one of the leading figures in Afrobeats after Fela Kuti.
