Petrol prices have continued to fall across filling stations in Abuja and nearby areas, with motorists now paying between N35 and N90 less per litre than they did at the end of July.
Checks showed that outlets operated by MRS, NNPCL, AA Rano, NIPCO, Emedab and others are selling petrol between N1,210 and N1,275 per litre, compared with N1,305 to N1,335 recorded on July 31, 2026.
The News Chronicle reports that the price cuts came shortly after Dangote Refinery reduced its gantry price by N50, from N1,210 to N1,165 per litre.
The domestic refinery’s petrol is also currently cheaper than imported fuel, which has a landing cost of about N1,218.54 per litre.
The latest movement highlights the growing impact of locally refined petrol on pump prices, even as international crude prices remain high. Brent crude was trading at $91.90 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate stood at $84.60.
