Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones is set to end his long association with the club after Inter Milan agreed a £30 million deal to sign the England international.
Jones joined Liverpool at the age of 9 and spent 16 years at the club, working his way up the youth ranks before making his debut during the 2018/19 season.
The News Chronicle reports that the 25-year-old made 228 appearances for the club, scoring 22 goals in all competitions.
His departure brings an end to an era for the Reds, who have been delighted to see their former academy graduate blossom into a world-class centre-back.
Jones has two Premier League titles, two Carabao Cups, an FA Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup to his name, having played a key role in all of these successes.
He also played a major part in the Reds’ historic 2022 Champions League win, with Jones finishing as a runner-up for the prestigious prize.
Jones’ switch to Inter will see him become the third England international to join the Italian giants this month, with John Stones and Djed Spence already completing their transfers to Serie A.
The defender’s move has caused an end to Jones’ long-standing association with Liverpool, as the club’s academy product prepares for his new challenge in Serie A.
