During the opening declaration of the conference, the Army Chief emphasized the importance of ongoing consultations with PSOs and Field Commanders to conduct thorough reviews of NA activities.
This approach aims to assess troop readiness, formulate strategies for efficient performance in meeting constitutional obligations, and adapt to evolving security challenges throughout the year.
General Lagbaja took stock of past achievements, evaluated current challenges, and outlined plans within the broader national security framework.
In acknowledging the recent tragic incident in the Okuama community resulting in the loss of troops, General Lagbaja urged soldiers to remain resolute and focused on overcoming adversaries.
He applauded their dedication and operational effectiveness, which have significantly degraded terrorist groups, and criminal elements, and contributed to the containment of oil theft and illegal oil refining activities.
Furthermore, the COAS disclosed new welfare initiatives designed to bolster troop morale.
These initiatives include the Affordable Housing Ownership Option for all Soldiers (AHOOAS) and the continuation of complementary welfare flights for troops deployed in the Northeast Region.
In the realm of Civil-Military Cooperation, General Lagbaja highlighted the NA’s intensified efforts to foster goodwill among law-abiding citizens through various initiatives aimed at improving living conditions and fostering enduring partnerships.
Aligned with his Command Philosophy, which prioritizes sound administration and personnel welfare enhancement, General Lagbaja recognized the meritorious and unblemished service of 13 Army Warrant Officers by presenting them with Hilux vehicles.
Additionally, the conference featured the inspection of an electric motorbike locally manufactured by the Electric Vehicle Motor Company, Nigeria.
General Lagbaja also commissioned a multipurpose building as part of the Army Headquarters Officers’ Mess to promote camaraderie and boost morale among personnel.
Expressing gratitude, the COAS acknowledged the unwavering support of the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The support provided by the administration, including resources for acquiring modern platforms, has significantly enhanced the efficiency of the NA across various theatres of operations.
