Charly Boy Questions the Sincerity of Pastor Adeboye’s Tithing Apology

Popular Nigerian entertainer, Charles Oputa, better known as Charly Boy, has shared his thoughts on Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s recent apology regarding tithing.

Pastor Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), recently apologized for a statement he made about tithing. He had previously said that those who do not pay tithe would not make it to heaven. In his apology, he admitted the statement was wrong and not supported by the Bible.

“I’m sorry for saying, ‘If you don’t pay tithe, you won’t make it to heaven.’ That was incorrect, and it’s not in the Bible. What the Bible says is, ‘Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see God,’” Pastor Adeboye clarified.

However, Charly Boy didn’t hold back in his response to the apology. According to him, an apology alone is not enough unless the tithes collected over the years are returned to the congregation.

In his words, “I believe a lot of the fakest people are found in churches. That’s my opinion. Your apology means nothing unless you promise to return the tithe money you took from people who were made to believe they could buy their way into heaven.”

Charly Boy went on to criticize religious hypocrisy, urging pastors to stop misleading their followers. “Sometimes the nicest people you meet have tattoos, and some of the most judgmental, bitter, and wicked people go to church every Sunday,” he added.

He also referenced a past incident where Pastor Adeboye told his followers to throw away their TVs, suggesting that this was an early sign that the pastor was out of touch. “Since that announcement, I knew something wasn’t right. It’s like someone who claims to ‘drink tea with God,’” Charly Boy commented sarcastically.

In conclusion, he called out so-called “fault-finding, finger-pointing pastors,” accusing them of being as fake as flashy jewelry worn by wannabe celebrities. For Charly Boy, Pastor Adeboye’s apology felt insincere.
