Seven Super Falcons players have been nominated for the 2023 Best Player of the Year award after The Confederation of Africa (CAF) released a 30-Woman list to jostle for the prestigious award come December.
Seven Super Falcons players who made the list of 30 are Rasheedat Ajibade, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Asisat Oshoala, Osinachi Ohale, Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne, and Uchenna Kanu.
Other categories of awards were also revealed by the Confederation, in which Nigerian Super Falcons players were also nominated.
For the Young Best Player award, the Nigerian trio of Abiodun Deborah Esther Ajakaye and Oluwatosin Demehin were shortlisted among others.
Super Falcons and Paris FC shot-stopper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, was shortlisted for the best goalkeeper award.
Randy Waldrum, who guided the Super Falcons to a terrific run in the recent FIFA Women’s World Cup, made the list of Best Coaches nominees.
The Nigerian Women’s National Team, The Super Falcons of Nigeria, were listed among the best teams for this year’s award.
