Butcher stabs wife to death over phone confiscation in Adamawa

—

A 33-year-old butcher Ibrahim Abubakar residing in Sabon Gari-Futy, Girei local Government Area, Adamawa State, has been taken into custody by the Adamawa State Police Command.
His arrest stems from the tragic killing of his 25-year-old wife, Hajara Sa’adu. The incident unfolded in the early hours of April 8, around 4:30 am, when Abubakar allegedly stabbed his wife multiple times with a sharp knife, resulting in severe injuries that ultimately led to her death.
The altercation reportedly erupted after Abubakar accused his wife of taking his phone, sparking a heated argument between them.
Following the heinous act, the father of the deceased promptly alerted the authorities, prompting a swift response from the police.
Upon arriving at the scene of the crime, preliminary investigations uncovered incriminating evidence implicating Abubakar.
Subsequently, he confessed to the crime, expressing deep remorse for his actions, particularly for depriving their only child of a mother.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, expressed profound disappointment over the tragic turn of events.
He assured the public that the Command would vigorously pursue justice for the victim and her family, emphasizing the diligent prosecution of the perpetrator.
This lamentable incident serves as a stark reminder of the grave consequences of domestic disputes escalating to such horrifying acts of violence.
