A 15-year-old suspect identified as Tijjani has been arrested by security forces in Ngamdu, Borno State, over his alleged involvement in recent attacks in the area.
The arrest took place on Sunday, April 12, following a military operation targeting individuals linked to the assault on Benisheik and Ngamdu communities last Thursday.
In a video statement obtained by The News Chronicle, the teenager claimed he moved between Jilli and Ngamdu during the period of the attacks. He further alleged that he was sent with the sum of N850,000 to procure logistics for the group before his arrest by troops.
Tijjani also stated that other members of the group remain in Jilli and alleged that he played a role in coordinating plans aimed at a security commander.
Security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the development, but efforts are reportedly ongoing to track down other suspected members linked to the attacks.
