Suspected Boko Haram terrorists on Wednesday afternoon launched an attack on a Nigerian Army formation in Askira Uba, Borno State, leaving casualties among soldiers.

Sources revealed that the insurgents struck at about 3:00 p.m., targeting troops of the 115 Task Battalion stationed in the area. The attack reportedly led to intense gunfire as soldiers engaged the assailants in a fierce battle.
Initial reports indicate that at least four soldiers may have been killed during the encounter, although official confirmation from military authorities is still awaited.
Residents in the area said they heard heavy gunshots and explosions during the attack, which caused panic within the community.
