BREAKING: Abducted Kebbi High Court Judge Regains Freedom After Days in Captivity

Hon. Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza, the High Court judge abducted in Kebbi State a week ago, has regained his freedom and returned home safely.

A family member confirmed the development on Monday, saying the judge arrived home earlier in the day after spending one week in captivity.

“We are in jubilation and full of gratitude to God for seeing our own return safely from captivity. He was just released and has returned home after spending one week with the bandits,” the family member said.

The family expressed appreciation to the Kebbi State Judiciary, security agencies, and residents of the state for their support, prayers, and messages of solidarity during the period of his abduction.

“We sincerely thank and appreciate the Kebbi State Judiciary, the security agencies, and the entire people of Kebbi State who contributed in different ways, offered prayers, and sent messages of sympathy. Your concern and support gave us strength, and we are grateful for your solidarity,” the relative added.

The source, however, declined to provide details surrounding the judge’s release, saying more information would be made available later.

“Other details of how he was released will be made available later,” the family member said.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the Kebbi State Judiciary nor the security agencies had issued an official statement on the judge’s release.

Justice Bunza’s abduction last week sparked widespread concern across Kebbi State, with many Nigerians calling for his immediate and unconditional release.
