BREAKING: 20 NYSC Prospective Corps Members Freed After Kidnappers Demand N50m Each

—

Twenty prospective members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) abducted in Imo State have regained their freedom.

The victims were travelling from Ibadan, Oyo State, to NYSC orientation camps in Abia and Akwa Ibom states when they were kidnapped last Thursday.

The abductors initially demanded a ransom of N50 million for each victim before reportedly reducing the amount to N5 million per person.

However, the victims were eventually rescued in a joint operation involving the military, Department of State Services (DSS), police and other security agencies.

The operation also secured the release of another hostage held by the kidnappers.

The rescued victims are reportedly receiving medical attention at the DSS Hospital in Owerri, Imo State.
