Borno First Lady empowers 3000 vulnerable women on Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Dr. Falmata Babagana Umara Zulum, the First Lady of Borno State, undertook a remarkable and meaningful initiative.

With great compassion and dedication, she organized and led an event that sought to uplift and empower women in her community who are facing vulnerabilities and challenges.

Through this event, she aimed to recognize the invaluable contributions of women to society and to provide support and opportunities for those who may be marginalized or disadvantaged.

Dr. Zulum’s efforts exemplify her commitment to promoting gender equality and creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for all women.

She helped 3,000 women who needed support. She gave them N150 million in money and food.

This day is important because it celebrates women’s achievements and asks for fairness between men and women.

This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.” It talks about treating women well in all parts of life.

Dr. Falmata Zulum felt happy to help these women. They came from every part of Borno State. Each woman got N50,000, rice, macaroni, and cooking oil.

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum supported his wife’s work. He promised to help women in the state find jobs. He said it’s important to give women skills so they can take care of themselves.

The Governor knew that women in Borno State faced hard times because of terrorists. Many lost their things and their husbands. He wanted to help them rebuild their lives.

He promised to help girls go to school. Education is important for making progress.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo, also praised the Governor and Mrs. Zulum’s work. She said International Women’s Day is about celebrating women and helping them grow.

Dr. Falmata Zulum’s project aimed to help poor women in Borno State. The Governor promised to keep helping women learn new skills and become independent. He wanted them to be part of the state’s growth.
