Borno approves N8 billion contract for third flyover

—

The Borno State government has agreed to pay N7.9 billion to a Chinese company called Eighteen Engineering Company (EEC) to build a third flyover at the West-End Roundabout in Maiduguri.

This was announced by Mr. Mustapha Gubio, the Commissioner for Works, during the contract signing ceremony in Maiduguri.

He said the project would help reduce traffic jams and make it easier for people to move around the city.

This flyover is part of Governor Babagana Zulum’s plan to improve infrastructure in the state.

Mr. Gubio explained that the EEC company was chosen because they have a good history of following the right procedures.

He told the contractors to make sure they do a good job and follow the plans carefully so that the project can be finished within one year.

The government has already given the company 40 percent of the money they will get for the project.

They will soon give them another 10 percent. Mr. Gubio urged the company to do their best because of this support.

He mentioned that the government is also working on other projects like roads and drains as part of their plan to improve the state over the next 25 years.

A representative from the company, Mr. Gao Kun, promised that they would do their best and complete the project as planned.
