Boko Haram militants have reportedly targeted important structures once more in Yobe State, Nigeria.

They brought down two towers belonging to the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) located in Kasaisa Village, along the Kasaisa-Damaturu-Gujba road.

This destructive act occurred on a Friday morning, leading to a power outage in the state capital and surrounding areas.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time such an incident has happened. It comes just one month after the TCN repaired the towers following a previous attack.

When reached for comment, Captain Shehu Muhammad, the Assistant Director of Public Relations Officer for Operation Lafiya Dole Sector 2 Damaturu, confirmed the incident. He expressed dismay at the actions of the vandals who brought down the towers.

In recent times, there has been an escalation of attacks by Boko Haram fighters in several areas including Gubja, Gulani, Geidam, and parts of Damaturu, the state capital.

This worrying trend has left residents of Damaturu concerned about their safety and the security of vital infrastructure.

They believe that urgent measures are needed to enhance security and protect critical facilities to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the state.
