Bauchi State to Host Defense Research and Development Center

Bauchi State is set to host a Defense Research and Development Bureau (DRDB) Research Center, a significant initiative aimed at promoting innovation, enhancing defense capabilities, and advancing technological development in the state and across Nigeria.

Governor Bala Mohammed announced this after receiving a delegation from the DRDB led by Air Vice Marshal B.A. Sani, the Director of Logistics on Tuesday.

During their visit, discussions focused on selecting a suitable location for the research center, emphasizing a shared commitment to strengthening research and development efforts that contribute to national security and progress.

The Governor expressed the state’s full support for strategic projects aligned with Nigeria’s security and development goals.

He highlighted the numerous benefits the research center would bring to Bauchi State, including job creation, skill development, and increased investment in advanced research and development infrastructure.

“This partnership is a vital step toward making Bauchi State a hub for innovation and development,” Governor Mohammed said. “We are confident this project will have long-term benefits for our state and the nation.”

The proposed center is expected to boost defense infrastructure while driving economic and technological growth in the region.
