Barcelona Star Marc Bernal Faces Year-Long Recovery After Surgery

Barcelona, Spain – In a significant blow to the team, midfielder Marc Bernal will be sidelined for approximately one year after undergoing surgery today to repair a double injury sustained in August.

The club confirmed that Bernal suffered a torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) and damage to the external meniscus, requiring intervention.

According to sources close to the club, Bernal’s surgery was successful, and he is now embarking on a lengthy recovery process. If all goes well, the talented midfielder is expected to return to the pitch in September 2025, marking a year-long absence from the game.

This news comes as a disappointment to Barcelona fans, who were eagerly anticipating Bernal’s return to action. The team will now have to rely on other players to fill the void left by Bernal’s injury.

The club’s medical staff will closely monitor Bernal’s progress, ensuring he receives the best possible care and rehabilitation. While the road to recovery will be long and challenging, Barcelona is optimistic that Bernal will make a full recovery and return to his top form.

In the meantime, the team will focus on supporting Bernal through his rehabilitation journey and finding ways to adapt to his absence on the field, sources said.
