Bandits Flee, Abandon Captives As Kaduna Police Rescue Pastor, Two Others After 40 Days in Kidnappers’ Den

Kaduna State Police Command has rescued three kidnapped victims after they spent 40 days in captivity, following a successful intelligence-led operation against suspected bandits.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, said operatives stormed a suspected bandits’ hideout after receiving credible intelligence.

He explained that the criminals fled upon sighting the advancing security team, abandoning their captives, who were rescued unharmed.

The rescued victims were identified as Ekechikwu Omale, Ummi Salisu of Kudan Local Government Area, and Pastor Daniel Tanko Bawa of Tufa Village in Niger State.

According to Hassan, the victims were immediately taken to the Police Clinic for medical evaluation and treatment before being reunited with their families.

The police spokesperson also disclosed that five suspected informants linked to the kidnapping syndicate were arrested during the operation.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly provided intelligence and logistical support to the kidnappers. During interrogation, they confessed to their roles in the crime,” Hassan said.

He added that investigations are ongoing to track down other members of the criminal network and ensure that all those connected to the crime are brought to justice.
