In a tragic overnight raid, armed bandits attacked Murai town in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State, resulting in multiple fatalities.
Among those killed was Alhaji Saminu Murai, a former caretaker chairman of the LGA.
According to local sources, the assailants stormed the town under the cover of darkness, opening fire on residents and causing widespread panic. In addition to the killings, several people were abducted, including members of Alhaji Saminu’s family.
The community remains in shock as security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the incident. Residents are calling for urgent intervention to prevent further attacks and ensure the safe return of those kidnapped.
