Bama University: FG Commences One-Week Verification, Placement of 1,700 Staff

The Federal Government has commenced the verification and placement exercise for 1,700 staff transferred and newly employed from the defunct Umar Ibn Ibrahim College of Education, Science and Technology, Bama, Borno State.
The exercise is being conducted by a Federal Government delegation led by Dr. Kareem O. L., with officials drawn from the National Universities Commission (NUC), Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, and the Federal Ministry of Education.
The delegation was received in Maiduguri on Wednesday by the Borno State Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilbe, and the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture and Entrepreneurship (FUAE), Bama, Prof. Tijjani Kalli.
 
During the meeting, the delegation briefed the commissioner on the purpose, scope and modalities of the verification and placement exercise.
The team subsequently travelled to the university in Bama on Thursday, accompanied by the commissioner, the vice-chancellor, and resource persons from the University of Maiduguri and Kashim Ibrahim University.
On arrival, the delegation addressed members of staff affected by the exercise and explained the procedures, requirements and expectations for the verification and placement process.
The staff were urged to cooperate with the officials and provide all necessary documents and information to ensure a smooth, transparent and credible exercise.
The verification and placement exercise is expected to last for one week, during which the affected staff will undergo the required processes in line with Federal Government guidelines.
