“Ballots Don’t Lie” — APC Still Has Nigerians’ Backing Despite Social Media Noise – Bashir Ahmed

Former presidential aide Bashir Ahmed OON has dismissed claims of dwindling support for the All Progressives Congress, APC, insisting that election results prove Nigerians remain with the ruling party.

In a post on his X account on Wednesday, Ahmed said social media does not reflect the true political mood of the country.

“If you judged politics solely by what you see on social media, you would think the APC has completely lost support across every part of the country,” he wrote.

He argued that the story changes whenever voters head to the polls. “Yet whenever there are by-elections, the APC continues to record victories across all states and constituencies,” Ahmed stated.

The APC chieftain concluded that the outcome of elections, not online commentary, shows where Nigerians stand. “Nigerians are still with the APC and results continue to demonstrate that reality,” he added.

Ahmed’s remarks come as the APC has won several recent by-elections for federal and state legislative seats across the country. The party has repeatedly cited those victories as proof of its grassroots strength, even as opposition voices dominate political discussions on social media.
