Ayra Starr, ZAYN’s ‘Heaven Baby’ Hits No. 1 on UK Asian Music Chart

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr and British artist ZAYN are watching their duet “Heaven Baby” climb charts across several countries, even as the song has yet to receive a major promotional push from its label.

“Heaven Baby” is track 14 on Starrgirl, Ayra Starr’s third studio album, released on August 14, 2026, through Mavin Records and Republic Records. The 16-track project also features Wizkid, Rema, Leon Thomas, Danny Ocean, Theodora, and Kwn.

Within ten days of release, “Heaven Baby” reached No. 2 on Apple Music Nigeria and peaked at No. 3 on Spotify Nigeria. It has since climbed further on Apple Music Nigeria, reaching a new peak of No. 5 on that chart.

The song pulled 790,000 Spotify streams on its first full day out and later posted a single-day peak of 937,721 streams. On TikTok, it drew more than 100,000 uses of its audio within the first 48 hours.

Outside Nigeria, the track debuted at No. 1 on the UK Official British Asian Music Chart and entered the UK Afrobeats Songs Chart. In Germany, it opened at No. 158 on the Spotify daily chart with more than 77,000 streams on day one. It has also broken into the Global Shazam Top 10, reaching No. 10, making it the second Ayra Starr song to hit that mark.

The parent album, Starrgirl, debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard World Albums chart for the week of August 29, 2026, behind Stray Kids’ This & That, CORTIS’ GREEN GREEN and ATEEZ’s Golden Hour: Part.5, and just ahead of South African singer Tyla’s APOP*. The album also topped the Spotify album chart in Nigeria and reached No. 1 on Apple Music in several other countries. It peaked at No. 8 on the UK R&B Albums chart, No. 27 on the UK Album Downloads chart, and No. 100 on France’s SNEP Albums chart.

Ayra Starr performed “Heaven Baby” live for the first time on August 24, 2026, at the All Points East festival in Victoria Park, London. Since ZAYN did not appear in person, his recorded verse played on a large screen behind her as she sang her part on stage.

For the performance, Ayra Starr wore a metallic silver-and-purple two-piece outfit with a high-neck choker collar, a striped miniskirt, and knee-high boots, styled with a long ponytail. The look matched the purple visual theme used across the Starrgirl album rollout. Footage of the set was later released as an official live video on YouTube.

ZAYN, known for his time in One Direction and his later solo work, posted a clip of himself singing “Heaven Baby” on Instagram on August 22, 2026, three days before the London performance.

Despite the streaming and chart numbers, “Heaven Baby” has not yet received the full promotional treatment usually given to a lead international single. There is still no official music video, only a lyric video on YouTube. No US or UK radio campaign has been confirmed, and no television performance in a major Western market has been announced.
