Are you Happiness Un-locked?

A boy gazes out at a field [Victor Umunna]

In the quiet corners

Of our cluttered, busy, roving, wandering lives,

Happiness often sneaks in,

Through a door or window you didn’t know

You forgot to close: left open for the breeze to seep in,

Like a thief on a summer eve,

Unseen, unfelt until it’s already here – early in time –

Coming alongside peace, laughter, beautiful conversations, and unexpected cheer.

During the chaos of our daily grind and hustle,

We pursue joy as IF it’s an ultimate hidden jewel to search for,

But it can neither be present in the loud noisy symphonies and rush,

But in silent time lapses and moments of gentle quiet.

When your thoughts wander, or when occupied with tasks,

Happiness can flow in to cover you, even in smallest acts

Like showing kindness, like strangers’ appreciation and smiles,

Like the last page of a strange and interesting story book,

That creates feelings like the sun’s

Warmth diluted in the rain, like the succor after rage.

So be HAPPY, my lover, let your heart easily unfold,

– For Happy it was structured to be –

For joy never knocks, our hearts never stops gasping for breeze;

So it slips through the hidden unknown cracks.

Embrace the moments by being aware of them,

For in those lay the true beauty of life.

And do not forget my dear lover, with all our might,

To give each other a “shout out” and “thank you for caring,”

For gratitude, kindness and support are worth sharing

In our journey to happiness – let gratitude elevate our consciousness!

So here’s to unlocked windows and doors left ajar,

To hope that happiness always finds us, though near and far,

And to the silent, sweet unexpected surprises of life.

With love – Be HAPPY!
