Anambra 2021: CVR Kicks Off In Anambra 30TH August – INEC

Awka – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Anambra State on Wednesday announced that it will commence the Continuous Voter Registration, CVR exercise in all 326 wards of the state next Monday, 30th August, 2021.

A statement yesterday by the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, in charge of Anambra State, Dr Nkwachukwu Orji, said the exercise will end on Sunday, 5th September 2021.

According to the statement, the address and location of the registration centres in each ward, has been published at the 21 LGA offices of INEC.

Orji revealed the categories of people eligible to participate in the CVR exercise.

“The Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise is for new registrants (that is, persons that are up to 18 years of age but who have not registered before).

“Old registrants who have experienced any form of problem with accreditation in the past elections, such as failure to read their card, failed authentication process, fingerprint issues and when a voter has PVC but can’t find his or her name in the electoral register.

“Old registrants seeking transfer, collection of cards, correction of personal information etc.,” he said.

Orji called on eligible registrants to take advantage of the opportunity, to register in order to participate in the November 6, 2021 governorship election.

“Please note that in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act, the CVR exercise in Anambra State will be suspended on 6th September 2021,” he concluded.
