Senator Ned Nwoko has sparked fresh controversy after declaring that he “feels sorry for men with just one wife,” insisting that polygamy brings “stability and balance” to men.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Sunday monitored by The News Chronicle, the Delta North lawmaker defended his lifestyle and dismissed rumours of a rift with his actress wife, Regina Daniels.
“When you stand on one leg, it’s difficult. But when you stand on two, three, or four, you’re more balanced,” Nwoko said confidently. “That’s why I feel sorry for those with one wife, it’s difficult to stand on one leg.”
Pressed on the biblical stance against polygamy, the senator countered, “The Old Testament supports it. I’m a man of faith. But that’s not what we’re here for.”
He maintained he has no regrets about marrying multiple wives. “I would do the same thing again. You should marry who you want to marry,” he said.
Addressing allegations of domestic abuse by Regina Daniels, Nwoko denied the claims outright. “Come on, you know I’m not a violent person. I respect my wives. I love them and my kids,” he stated.
His remarks came shortly after Regina Daniels showcased a new mansion on Instagram, fuelling speculation about a possible separation.
