Former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has moved to silence speculation linking him with a return to European football, making it clear that his immediate future lies in Nigeria.
Recent rumours had linked the forward to a move to Kazakh club FC Kaysar, particularly following the acquisition of his former international teammate, Victor Moses. Suggestions started that Musa might be drawn back overseas as a result of the growth.
Sources close to the player, however, claim there are no negotiations now and no plans for a move abroad. According to Musa, he is totally dedicated to his present position at Kano Pillars, which combines playing responsibilities with those of general manager.
The News Chronicle understands Musa sees his homecoming as more than a brief move. He is dedicated to helping Kano Pillars regain stability and competitiveness in the Nigeria Premier League, where the club is now battling to move out of the lower half of the table.
Previously playing for top teams in Russia, England, and Turkey, Musa’s most recent European experience was at Sivasspor. Still, his focus is on domestic rebuilding rather than seeking more adventure abroad.
